About the Event
The Art Galleries at Black Studies (AGBS) invites you to join the second event for our Salon Series, which hosts conversations between graduate students, faculty, and affiliates of UT and focuses on works from the AGBS and related collections.
Tune in to hear Chasitie Brown, Ph.D. student in the Department of Art + Art History, discuss the work of Cuban artist Belkis Ayón. Brown will focus on a work of Ayón's in the Christian-Green collection, "Sin título (Sikán con chivo)" (1993), and she will be in conversation with Dr. George Flaherty, Director of the Center for Latin American Visual Studies (CLAVIS).
The Salon Series is moderated and organized by Nicole Smythe-Johnson, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Art + Art History and 2021-2022 Christian-Green Fellow.
